Last week I got to leave my mommy life behind for a few days and go with my wonderful Aunt to LA. We had a blast! We had to stop in Oakland on the way down for a doctors appointment, and if wasn't for 
"Richard, the GPS man" we would have never made it. When we finally made it to LA, (whoever thought to put I5 down the middle of the most boring part of the state should be shot!) we got right back in the car and headed downtown to a LA Sparks game, it was the first time I have been to a WNBA game, it was interesting. The next day was DISNEYLAND! We didn't think we were going to be able to go, because we were all on such a tight budget, but Melaine did some great detective work for us and found day passes for 36 dollars. Who could pass that up. Caralee and I were there when the park opened and stayed almost till closing. 16 hours of Disney goodness. The first thing we saw was the Tikki Room, while we were waiting for our Indiana Jones Fast Pass. We got to ride everything we had on our list at least once, but we rode Indy 3 times, Pirates twice, Haunted Mansion twice, Big thunder Mountain twice, and a ton of others. I was pooped at the end of the day, but it was great!!!
We did lots of other things, but I loved going to La Brea tar pits almost as much as Disneyland! What an amazing thing to see. I love anything that has to do with Geology and earth science. La Brea has been on my list for a long time and I am so glad that I got to experience it. We went on a Monday morning and there was almost no one there, it was great!
The last day we drove around and did all the crazy tourist things, walked Rodeo Drive, saw amazingly expensive things at Tiffany and Co., saw a really Hollywood premiere(Going the Distance), and drive to the Hollywood sign. That night we drove to Santa Monica Pier and walked around. It was an amazing evening and the moon was so bright!
I missed my Family SO much, but I had a great time. I'm not sure that I will ever get to do something like that again. I couldn't have gone with out my great in-laws, they were willing to watch the kiddos for 3 days, a long time if you are not around them 24/7. And my mom who payed for my plane ticket home, and of course my great hubby! THANKS!
