Brice is 5 months!!

Well it has been a while..... So many new things are going on.
Brice has his very first tooth, he is also eating solid food ( although I think the thinks I am poisoning him!) And his new favorite place to hang out is in his Johnny Jumper. He Is a horrible napper, but he sleeps well at night, only waking up one to eat. He thinks Emma and Jake are the funniest people on the planet, and he LOVES daddy. Mommy is his favorite person when it come to cuddle time, but when he wants to sleep he likes to be put down awake. He is total Unlike my other two kids, and it seems like he has been here forever! He makes my heart hurt sometimes when he smiles at me, and he is a serious hair puller. He goes by many names....Bricey, bricer ricer, sugar booger, and Mr.Man are the ones that get used most often. We love our little guy so much and can't imagine our family without him!!

9 months is a long time to wait!

Sleeping in mommy and daddy's bed is way better than sleeping in my crib!!!

Yes, the scale says 9lbs 6oz!

He was a little mad that he got ripped from his warm home, and thrown into the light

Daddy, Jacob, and Emma waiting for daddy to be called into the opperating room.

So after 9 long months, the day finally arrived! Because I had a c section the first 2 times we scheduled one for this time too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my doctor and when he scheduled the operating room he made sure that he got the first slot at 7:30 am. He said that we waited 9 months and he didn't want us to have to wait any longer! Everything was running so good that morning that we actually went into the O.R. early. Brice Jeffery Richardson was born on 9/9/11 at 7:33am. The first thing my doc said was " I may have underestimated how much he weighs" He thought that Brice was going to be about 8lbs. . .hahahaha! We stayed in the hospital for 3 nights and by the time they wanted to let me go I was beyond ready!

We are all so in love with this beautiful little guy! Emma and Jake are wonderful big siblings, they worry about "baby Brice" and do pretty much anything I ask.

There are more pictures to come I promise!

A birthday and a graduation!

Emma in her Graduation stuff.

Emma's graduation dress that grandma Mary got her. She looked very grown up.

Yes I made the cake. I know shocker huh?

Last week our little man turned 4. It is hard to believe that he is already 4. He is a funny and smart little boy. He knows almost everything about John Deere, and what every different kind of tractor does. He LOVES to work outside with his Daddy and his Papas. He is a man's boy.
He starts preschool next year and is really excited about being a big brother!

Emma also graduated from Kindergarten. Frankly I find kindergarten graduation to be a little silly, but it was cute to see her up there with all her friends. She got the Super Reader award. She is an amazing reader. We were so proud of her. She has grown into a great young lady. She is ready to start 1st grade, and was a little bummed when I told her that she had to wait 2 1/2 months before school started again. The girl LOVES school. ( thank goodness!!!)

A day at the Zoo!

Saturday was the first really nice day that Emma had off from school, and I wasn't feeling crummy! We packed up our stuff and headed to the zoo. Aunt Caralee, Grandma E and Papa Dale joined us for our adventure. We had a great time exploring our local zoo, we haven't been there for over a year and a lot had changed. It was one of those days you want to last forever!

The Great Bambino!!!

Emma is playing T-ball this year. She has really taken to it and is the best thrower on her team. She does get a little board when she is put in the outfield ( who doesn't?). Next year she will be old enough to play coach pitch, but as she says " I'm just not sure about someone throwing a ball at my face." She still is Em through and through!

The news is out!

So. . . as most for you know, Ryan and I have been trying for over 2 years to get pregnant again. There were a lot of doctors appointments, tons of tests, and a lot of disappointment, but we are FINALLY expecting!
Really, I still am in denial mode. It hasn't happened so many times that when the little plus sign showed up on the pee stick I couldn't believe it. I even called Ry into the bathroom to look at it. After taking 3 more tests and getting all positives I started to believe it was real. There are still so many things that can go wrong between now and Aug 1 ( the due date), but I am grateful to know that we can still get pregnant, and right now that is all I am thinking about!
We are beyond excited! And other than feeling crappy and grumpy and tired, I feel good. :)

the greatest thing

I love making things for the kids, and this was the latest! I got the bags at Michael's for a dollar! The patterns are from a pumpkin carving book, and I used regular fabric paint that I already had! The kids love them, and the best part is they store flat! No more plastic pumpkins!

HALLOWEEN!

Three days of Halloween was too much for me! I am glad that this year is over. It started Friday. Emma received an award a school for being caring on the playground. I am so proud of her. Everyone at school says that she is the most caring little girl. She has befriended a little girl in the special day class, Melanie, Emma understands that she is different, but as she says, "Mom it just means that Heavenly Father loves her so much!" She is a very loving little girl.
Later that evening we went with some friends to trick-or-treat main street. Every year the businesses on Main street invite trick-or-treater's. the kids had a great time. After that we had dinner at our friends house. They had a pinata for the kids to beat on. It was great fun!
Saturday evening the ward had places for the kids to trick-or-treat. It was great, since Halloween fell on a Sunday the kids got to do the normal trick-or-treating thing.
Jake insisted on being a robot, so he and daddy put his costume together. We got more comments on his robot costume than anything else.
All in all it was a great weekend, but I am glad that it is over!

One Whole Week

It is official Jake has now gone without diapers or pull-ups at night for a whole week. One night while getting him ready for bed he looked at me and said, " mommy, big boys don't wear diapers?" I said "nope, big boys wear underwear to bed" and that was apparently enough for him. when he puts his mind to something, man does he stick to it. No accidents, and he gets up about 3 o'clock and goes potty and then puts himself back to bed! WOW, I am still in shock! Way to go Jakers!!!!

Roses

Emma was in after school program yesterday and apparently had gas. During story time she couldn't hold it in any more and broke wind. Of course all the other kindergartners we cracking up, one of them said " Emma you stink" and My daughter looks at them straight faced and said "No I don't, I smell like roses!" That is totally a Richardson thing to say!

First Week of School!!

So we made it through the first week of school. Emma loves her class, most of the time, and likes her teacher. She does not like however getting up early and going to be early. We had back to school night and everyone said that she is a joy to work with. What happens when she gets home then? That is my question. Jake loves his mornings with out sissy. He gets to pick what cartoon he watches, and no one bosses him around. But come about 1 o'clock he starts asking if it is time to pick up Emma. Only another 170 days to go! (P.S. the camera battery died so as soon as it charges I will post pictures of the princess)

mom's big adventure!

Last week I got to leave my mommy life behind for a few days and go with my wonderful Aunt to LA. We had a blast! We had to stop in Oakland on the way down for a doctors appointment, and if wasn't for "Richard, the GPS man" we would have never made it. When we finally made it to LA, (whoever thought to put I5 down the middle of the most boring part of the state should be shot!) we got right back in the car and headed downtown to a LA Sparks game, it was the first time I have been to a WNBA game, it was interesting.

The next day was DISNEYLAND! We didn't think we were going to be able to go, because we were all on such a tight budget, but Melaine did some great detective work for us and found day passes for 36 dollars. Who could pass that up. Caralee and I were there when the park opened and stayed almost till closing. 16 hours of Disney goodness. The first thing we saw was the Tikki Room, while we were waiting for our Indiana Jones Fast Pass. We got to ride everything we had on our list at least once, but we rode Indy 3 times, Pirates twice, Haunted Mansion twice, Big thunder Mountain twice, and a ton of others. I was pooped at the end of the day, but it was great!!!

We did lots of other things, but I loved going to La Brea tar pits almost as much as Disneyland! What an amazing thing to see. I love anything that has to do with Geology and earth science. La Brea has been on my list for a long time and I am so glad that I got to experience it. We went on a Monday morning and there was almost no one there, it was great!

The last day we drove around and did all the crazy tourist things, walked Rodeo Drive, saw amazingly expensive things at Tiffany and Co., saw a really Hollywood premiere(Going the Distance), and drive to the Hollywood sign. That night we drove to Santa Monica Pier and walked around. It was an amazing evening and the moon was so bright!

I missed my Family SO much, but I had a great time. I'm not sure that I will ever get to do something like that again. I couldn't have gone with out my great in-laws, they were willing to watch the kiddos for 3 days, a long time if you are not around them 24/7. And my mom who payed for my plane ticket home, and of course my great hubby! THANKS!

They swam unill they got so cold their lips turned blue and they were shaking! We had so much fun and feel so blessed that we live close enough to drive up for a long weekend.

Our little Boy????

Ahh the joys of being the little brother! Emma got a hold of Jake today and this is what happened. Let me tell you that Ryan was none to happy that his little boy was dressed like a fairy princess! Someday these pictures will come back to haunt him! Oh sweet revenge!
Enjoying being a fairy princess too much!

SO, big news in our house the last few days! Emma lost her first tooth last week and then tonight it's neighbor fell out. She has been so excited to loose these two teeth, she is saving her money for a new Polly Pocket. I can't believe that my baby is loosing her teeth already. Wasn't I just pregnant with her? She is growing into a wonderful young girl, so full of imaginaton and life. I love her more every day!

My little man!

Sometimes the things jake says make me laugh so hard! Today for instance, he comes running into the living room wearing nothing but his new hat from Alaska (thanks grandma Mary), and yells " We are going to Winter now!" He then runs back into his room to resume whatever game he was playing. Ahhh the 3 year old mind!

So after some prodding from friends and family, I have started a blog. I know, I know, shocker huh? Life seems to go by so fast I can't keep up. maybe this will help me slow down and take a closer look!
